The University of Illinois College of Medicine Peoria (UICOMP) seeks a talented and qualified higher education professional for a key leadership position on campus. The Associate Dean, Clinical Affairs and Regional Clinical Strategy will play a pivotal role in developing cooperative relationships and opportunities for collaboration between UICOMP and healthcare partners across central Illinois.

This position will also promote interdepartmental cooperation across campus as well as contribute to furthering UICOMP’s Strategic Plan initiative.

Position Summary

The Associate Dean for Clinical Affairs and Regional Clinical Strategy will lead the clinical practice at UI College of Medicine Peoria (UICOMP) and will work with affiliate partners to grow clinical practice, maintain fiscal priorities, improve medical billing process.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Assist and advise the regional dean in all aspects of clinical affairs on the Peoria campus.
  • Responsible for the quality initiatives and project improvement strategies relating to clinical services
  • Consult with the regional dean and senior leadership in the oversight of the negotiations of clinical service agreements ith OSF HealthCare, Carle Health-Methodist/Proctor and other affiliates; and develop and enhance strategic partnerships
    with these partners to expand clinical services.
  • Develop budgets for new clinical opportunities to gauge fiscal viability and sustainability.
  • Collaborate with departmental/research leadership to bring additional clinical services and clinical research (clinical trials) revenue to the campus.
  • Serve on the Professional Service Agreement (PSA) committee with OSF Healthcare and Carle Health systems.
  • Lead the clinical strategy initiative implementation team.
  • Oversee staff positions responsible for ensuring compliance with Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPPA) and medical billing regulations.
  • Review reports with the regional dean and executive director for fiscal affairs detailing the performance metrics of the clinical services/medical service plan (MSP).
