Job summary

City Colleges of Chicago (CCC) invites applications for the Associate Dean-School of Engineering. The role leads site-level engineering programs, guides student services, and collaborates with faculty to achieve enrollment, retention, and transfer goals.

Based at Harold Washington College with travel to campuses, the incumbent will oversee operations, budgets, and staff, while strengthening partnerships with schools and industry to support a diverse student body.

Qualifications

• A Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in a STEM field or Higher Education with a STEM Bachelor.
• PhD is preferred.
• Minimum five years of administrative experience, preferably in a college setting.
• Three to five years in engineering and related fields.
• Experience in higher education student affairs, continuing education, or workforce development is desirable.
• Strong leadership, budgeting, and personnel management skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; strong organizational abilities.

Responsibilities

• Develop short and long-term goals for the School of Engineering at assigned sites.
• Coordinate student support programs (recruitment, orientation, advising, tutoring, internships, mentorship, transfer support).
• Collaborate with site Administratives Lead to align operations and deliver services.
• Build relationships with local schools, industry, and external partners for outreach.
• Promote student engagement, internships, and research opportunities.
• Supervise staff and provide professional development and feedback.
• Manage site-level budgets and ensure fiscal accountability.
• Track KPIs (enrollment, retention, satisfaction, transfers) and drive improvements.
