Job Description

Strategically assists, manages, and supports Division Operations and implements new initiatives using effective project management skills in collaboration with and under the direction of the Division Dean.

Responsibilities

Operations and Personnel Management

  • Collaborates with the Dean in designing, implementing, and continuously improving academic programs aligned with industry needs.
  • Works with Program Coordinators to assess lab assistant effectiveness.
  • Identifies and recommends staffing needs to the Dean.
  • Provides oversight to Education and Work Center, Learning Career Center, and WIOA partnership.
  • Interviews and recommends adjunct faculty hiring, evaluates adjunct faculty, and handles related complaints and resolutions.
  • Ensures compliance with employee contracts and policies.
  • Participates in institutional committees, serving as Dean's designee.
  • Facilitates conflict resolution among staff and division members.
  • Coordinates division events and performs other duties as assigned.

Fiscal

  • Assists in budget development under the Dean's guidance.
  • Manages requests for resources and information from faculty, staff, and other college areas.
  • Reviews financial and operational reports.

Research, Reporting, Project Management

  • Facilitates program reviews, departmental planning, and annual updates.
  • Collaborates on data collection and reporting for accreditation and Perkins programs.
  • Monitors enrollment trends and program growth or decline signals.

Communication

  • Maintains open communication and collaboration within the division.
  • Ensures timely website content updates.
  • Leads marketing efforts focused on academic programs.

Academic Program Management

  • Works with leadership to develop a student-centered class schedule.
  • Supports new program development, aligning with workforce trends and accreditation standards.
  • Monitors program compliance and articulation agreements.

Professional Development

Develops skills for effective academic management and leadership.

Qualifications

  • Education: Master's Degree, preferably in higher education leadership or relevant discipline.
  • Experience: At least two years in supervisory or management roles in higher education, with knowledge of Career and Technical Programs. Proficient in Microsoft Office. Experience in planning, program development, evaluation, and budgeting, preferably in a community college setting.
  • Preferred: Over two years as Department Chair, Program Coordinator, or similar, with experience in unionized environments and CTE programs.
