AbbVie is seeking a data and visualization-focused professional to support the Global Research, Informatics & Platform Solutions team within the Information Research division. The role involves building visualizations, transforming data, and supporting end users to optimize decision-making in discovery and development projects.

You will work with discovery scientists and IT partners to capture data, create dashboards, and ensure data integrity across multi-platform datasets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in life sciences or equivalent.
• Proficient in Python and data visualization with Spotfire or equivalent.
• Experience with CI/CD processes and modern data pipelines.
• Strong communication for cross-functional collaboration and training.
• Familiarity with data science techniques and AI concepts.

Job Description

The Global Research, Informatics & Platform Solutions team within the Information Research (IR) Division works with internal clients to provide data management and decision support tools to optimize the efficiency and efficacy of research and development at AbbVie. Under leadership guidance, this role supports multiple areas within Research & Discovery to build visualizations, transform data, capture data, and support end users. The role also participates in data flow documentation and general requirement gathering. This is a cross-functional role, working directly with discovery scientists and technology stakeholders to optimize data capture, visualization, and decision-making.

Responsibilities

• Communicate – Ability to communicate with scientific individuals. from Discovery teams to understand existing workflows and data flow & gather requirements.
• Build – Design and implement technology solutions that integrate, visualize, and analyze complex multi-platform data, including omics, biomarkers, & preclinical safety.
• Integrate – Understand the value in capturing data properly and integrating data sets.
• Support – Work directly with scientists to support their dashboarding or technical needs.
• Technical Proficiency – Demonstrate high proficiency in python, SQL, & other technologies for data storage, transfer, integration, visualization, and analytics.
• Adaptability – Ability to work on multiple, sometimes very different, projects at one time.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree.
• Background in life sciences, biology, or equivalent required.
• Dedicated team player who can interface with discovery scientists and IT partners.
• Strong programming proficiency in Python (and possibly other modern languages) and strong familiarity with data visualization and pipelining tools such as Spotfire, or equivalent
• Understanding of software development process and familiarity with CI/CD tools.
• Excellent communication skills for cross-functional collaboration & training, including documenting and presenting technical solutions to non-technical stakeholders: outstanding interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Familiarity with modern data science and AI techniques & interest in further developing technical skills and scientific knowledge.
• Ability to work independently, multitask, and work within timelines.
• A self-motivated learner and thinker with a hands-on approach.
