Job summary

Switchboard is seeking an Associate Data Engineer on behalf of Open Technology Solutions (OTS). This early-career role is for someone with a year or two of hands-on SQL and data work who wants to grow into a full data engineer.

You’ll join a five-person data engineering team building SQL ingestion processes, creating dbt models, and learning the Snowflake-based data stack. If you’ve written real code in BI, analytics, or developer roles and are ready to jump into data engineering, we want to

Qualifications

• 1-2+ years hands-on data engineering, BI, analytics, or software development.
• Hands-on SQL coding experience; production queries.
• Exposure to Python and databases like Snowflake, Oracle, or SQL Server.
• Familiarity with ETL/ELT tools such as dbt, Fivetran, or Matillion is a plus.
• Experience with BI platforms (Power BI, Tableau, etc.) is a plus.
• Problem-solving mindset and ability to seek answers independently before escalating.

Responsibilities

• Build data pipelines using Fivetran, dbt, and Python to move data between Snowflake, SaaS APIs, and on-prem databases.
• Write and run SQL for ingestion and transformation; develop dbt models.
• Assist in designing data structures in Snowflake.
• Automate data quality monitoring and pipeline health alerts.
• Document data products, processes, and lineage;Research new data tools and methods.
• Participate in scheduled weekend and after-hours maintenance as needed.
