Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a data engineer to design and maintain data pipelines and analytics-ready datasets. You will collaborate with actuaries, analysts, and business stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver reliable data products.

You will support Tableau and Power BI dashboards, ensure data quality, and contribute to cloud-based data platforms. A foundation in SQL and Python, plus exposure to cloud services, is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required or equivalent work experience.
• 0 to 3 years of professional experience in data engineering, analytics, software development, data integration, or related field.
• Foundational knowledge of SQL and relational databases.
• Exposure to Python or another programming language.
• Strong analytical and communication skills.
• Experience with data visualization tools preferred (Tableau/Power BI).
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (Snowflake, Databricks, Azure, AWS).
• Experience with large datasets and data transformations preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain data pipelines and integrations.
• Partner with actuaries and analysts to understand data needs.
• Support Tableau, Power BI, and dashboards by preparing data assets.
• Assist with data quality monitoring and documentation.
• Contribute to self-service analytics data products.
• Collaborate with technology teams on cloud-based platforms.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Actuarial Science, or a related field
