Job summary

Magnit is hiring an Associate Cybersecurity Engineer to support GuideWell and Florida Blue on a contractual basis. You will administer security tools, manage SIEM deployments, and optimize log collection and processing in a fast-paced environment.

The role emphasizes Linux command-line skills, basic network knowledge, and collaboration with CyberSecurity, IT Operations, IT Network, and Privacy teams to strengthen data pipeline security.

Job description

This is a contract opportunity. You will be employed by Magnit to work on assignment with GuideWell and subsidiary companies including Florida Blue. Associate Cybersecurity Engineers are responsible for activities including (but not limited to) administration of information security tools, security devices, cybersecurity safeguards, countermeasures, and cybersecurity event management. This position is for a new self-starter engineer to work in a fast-paced environment with leading-edge threat detection and logging technologies as part of a dynamic team that works closely with service providers and personnel from various organizational departments including CyberSecurity, IT operations, IT network, and privacy teams. Associate Cybersecurity Engineers troubleshoot and maintain security product policies and configuration as directed, administering and optimizing Security Data Pipeline Platforms and data engines (i.e. CRIBL, Onum, syslog-ng, etc.) to ensure efficient log collection and processing, while configuring and managing enterprise SIEM deployments (i.e CrowdStrike NG-SIEM/LogScale). Associate Cybersecurity Engineers are responsible for identifying and resolving failures and potential issues while maintaining accurate documentation of SIEM platform, left-of-SIEM data architecture, and log normalization processes; engineers need Linux system and command line experience, plus basic-intermediate network understanding.
