About Chainalysis Government Solutions

Chainalysis Government Solutions (CGS) is a wholly-owned Chainalysis subsidiary that provides blockchain intelligence solutions, including technology, training, and services to law enforcement, defense, intelligence and regulatory customers across the U.S. Government.

Blockchain technology is powering a growing wave of innovation. Businesses and governments around the world are using blockchains to make banking more efficient, connect with their customers, investigate criminal cases and track transnational threats. As the adoption of blockchain technology grows, more and more organizations seek access to all this ecosystem has to offer. That’s where Chainalysis comes in. We provide complete knowledge of what’s happening on blockchains through our data, services, and solutions. With Chainalysis, organizations can navigate blockchains safely and with confidence.

As an Associate Investigator with the Investigations Solutions team, you leverage your experience to proactively conduct research, analyze data, write reports, and present your investigative findings to both team members and customers. You are confident in advocating for the Chainalysis mission of bringing trust to blockchains and are proficient in leveraging our tools and data to develop insights into illicit activity trends in cryptocurrency and their impact on our customers. By collaborating with team members across Chainalysis, you will help support the most intricate financial crime investigations to meet and exceed customer expectations.

In this role, you will:

  • Collaborate with team members and across Chainalysis to support complex cryptocurrency investigations
  • Provide investigative and analytic support for technical and highly sensitive investigations and initiatives pertaining to blockchain technologies and cryptocurrency-based crime
  • Conduct research and data analysis, author investigative reports, and present those findings to team members and customers
  • Review the adequacy and completeness of investigations and the data collection methods to determine the authenticity, accuracy, and relevance of that data—resulting in more thorough investigations and analytic assessments
  • Evangelize the Chainalysis mission of bringing trust to blockchains, becoming an expert in using our tools and data to generate insights on illicit activity trends in crypto and their impact on our customers

We're looking for candidates who have:

  • A degree in cybersecurity, cybercrime, intelligence, criminal justice, forensic accounting, data analytics, or similar
  • Previous work experience conducting complex financial crime investigations for federal government, intelligence analysis or law enforcement investigations, financial services or cryptocurrency companies, or equivalent forensic experience related to darkweb, counterterrorism, or technical analysis is highly desired
  • Experience conducting open-source research utilizing public and private databases highly desired
  • Interest in and/or passion for blockchain/cryptocurrency technology

Nice-to-have qualities and skills:

  • Previous professional or personal experience in the DeFi space
  • Working knowledge of (or proficiency in) SQL and Python
  • Certification in Chainalysis Reactor (CRC and CEIC)
