Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in a creative leadership role within an agency or internal brand team.
• Proven track record creating breakthrough social media content.
• Deep understanding of native social platforms and short-form video.
• Strong written and verbal communication with empathy.
• Ability to oversee both visual and narrative components of large campaigns.
• Experience crafting data-driven creative strategies grounded in KPIs.

We Are Social is looking for an Associate Creative Director in Miami, FL (onsite) to help shape creative that connects with social audiences and holds up to agency standards. This role blends leadership, craft, and client partnership, with a focus on integrating AI to accelerate work and expand creative possibilities. Alongside that, you’ll help build ideas with the depth needed for award-winning social thinking, campaigns, and content.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain strong client relationships, confidently defending creative directions and translating high-level business needs into actionable tasks for the creative team
• Navigate project challenges such as fluctuating budgets and tight timelines, keeping teams focused and effective under pressure
• Oversee the shift from abstract concept to final craft across multiple high-priority workstreams, protecting the integrity of the creative vision
• Lead clients in evolving their approach, partnering with the agency to deliver social thinking, campaigns, and content
• Oversee daily output of creative staff by delegating work, providing high-level constructive feedback, and supporting a culture of growth and creative bravery
• Lead development of complex, nuanced ideas to ensure art direction and copy meet rigorous agency standards while supporting long-term client goals
• Proactively provide creative solutions for clients and encourage the team to do the same
• Identify creative opportunities that blend emerging AI tools with traditional storytelling
• Use AI to streamline processes, including compressing ideation and expanding creative horizons, and help develop campaign briefs and presentations
• Act as the team’s AI subject matter expert, training staff on new capabilities and leading conversations on proactive, ethical AI use in creative workflows
• Lead and mentor junior team members to develop innovative creative thinkers

Requirements

• 7+ years experience in a creative leadership role within an agency or internal brand team
• Demonstrated track record creating breakthrough social media content
• Understanding of being authentically native on social platforms, including short-form video, motion graphics, and trending sounds
• Strong communication skills with empathy and respect for coworkers and clients
• Ability to oversee both visual and narrative components of large-scale campaigns
• Experience crafting creative strategies grounded in market data and client KPIs
• Hybrid creative skills (ability to art direct and write, comfortable making and directing)
• On-set production and post-production experience
• Willingness to get hands-on and lead by example, including guiding teams and leading creative projects
