Overview

ABOUT US:

Founded in 1993, Bayview Asset Management is an investment management firm focused on investments in mortgage and consumer credit, including whole loans, asset-backed securities, mortgage servicing rights, and other credit-related assets.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Associate will be responsible for the oversight and optimization of commercial mortgage portfolios and performing asset management including underwriting, due diligence, and internal reporting for commercial real estate loans throughout the U.S., with a concentration in the Northeast. The role involves working with multiple debt products such as bridge/transitional, CMBS, construction, and mezzanine solutions across all commercial real estate classes, including loan acquisition opportunities and structured real estate financing transactions.

The ideal candidate is self-motivated, works effectively in teams, is detail-oriented, and can manage multiple transactions in a fast-paced environment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Monitor property performance including occupancy, lease expirations, revenues, and operating expenses.
• Monitor loan performance including covenant compliance, underwriting metrics, and sponsor financial reporting.
• Prepare and present comprehensive reports for senior management and investors.
• Conduct market research and monitor market trends.
• Review and screen debt financing and loan acquisition opportunities.
• Create detailed cash flow analyses using Excel.

SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES:

• Strong analytical and quantitative skills.
• Understanding of and interest in commercial real estate, capital markets, and debt financing.
• Excellent verbal, written, and communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Proficiency in Excel.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• 4+ years of experience in commercial real estate asset management and/or mortgage originations or underwriting.
• Bachelor’s degree in business, real estate, economics, engineering, or math, with a demonstrated interest in real estate finance.

LOCATION & COMPENSATION:

• This is an onsite position based in Bayview’s New York, NY office.
• Base salary ranges from $100,000 to $140,000, with potential incentive bonuses based on performance.
