Job summary

The Wright Center for Graduate Medical Education is seeking an Associate Counsel to coordinate the detection, identification, and mitigation of legal risk. The role oversees non-clinical compliance and risk management for WCGME and TWCCH, including HIPAA privacy, security, and Safe Event Reporting.

The successful candidate will lead staff and contractor trainings, support litigation matters with in-house counsel, and promote a culture of accountability and integrity across the organization.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor degree required.
• Active Pennsylvania Bar membership.
• Minimum of 2 years in legal/compliance roles; 5–7 years preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate non-clinical compliance and risk management across WCGME and TWCCH.
• Lead training programs on HIPAA, privacy, and related topics.
• Support external reporting and liaise with General Counsel on litigation matters.
• Monitor and report on SAFER events and patient privacy compliance.
• Collaborate with department leaders to resolve legal or risk issues.
