Associate Counsel - Chicago, IL (REMOTE)

Join GEICO as an Associate Counsel based in Chicago, IL, with remote work flexibility. The role involves defending lawsuits filed in Illinois courts and handling first-party insurance defense cases.

Position Details

Salary Range: $112,750 - $175,275 per year. Actual pay depends on experience and skills. Discuss with your recruiter for more details.

Key Responsibilities

• Research laws and prepare legal briefs, opinions, and memoranda.
• Render opinions on liability, damages, and value as requested by Claims Department.
• Prepare and manage pleadings, motions, discovery, depositions, and defend cases in court.

Basic Qualifications

• 2-6+ years of litigation experience in insurance, defense, or personal injury.
• Juris Doctor degree required.
• Admission to the Illinois Bar required.
• Licensed and in good standing to practice law in Illinois.
• Ability to travel for court proceedings and meetings.
• Excellent documentation, communication, organization, and multitasking skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Civil litigation experience.
• Insurance defense litigation experience.
