The Corporate Development Associate will focus on expanding Concentra’s footprint through various growth efforts, including acquisitions, de novos and other strategic partnerships. The role is specifically focused on prospecting to fill the development pipeline with qualified opportunities, managing/vetting leads, gathering information used to evaluate potential acquisition opportunities, supporting deal execution throughout the entire transaction process, evaluating areas of interest for potential de novo sites and performing detailed financial analysis.

Responsibilities
  • Market Research & Opportunity Identification: Conduct in-depth market analysis to identify & track potential acquisition targets, partnership opportunities, and new service line possibilities that support Concentra’s strategic goals.
  • De Novo Execution: Progress market analysis into actionable plans for the addition of new Concentra locations across the U.S., assisting with the de novo process from start to finish.
  • Deal Origination: Conduct outreach efforts to source conversations with prospective sellers (through outbound cold calling efforts, inbound communication from prospective sellers, warm introductions from the field, etc.) and foster relationships towards a potential transaction.
  • Financial Analysis & Modeling: Build and maintain complex financial models & pro formas to evaluate M&A opportunities, joint ventures, and other investments, including valuation, ROI, and synergy assessments.
  • Due Diligence: Lead and coordinate due diligence processes, collaborating with cross-functional teams to assess financial, operational, and legal risks of potential transactions.
  • Deal Execution: Support all phases of transaction processes, including drafting letters of intent, negotiating terms and legal documents with in-house counsel/outside attorneys, coordinating internal integration processes, and preparing materials for internal approvals and external stakeholders.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Prepare presentations and reports for the executive team, board of directors, and external partners to communicate strategic recommendations and transaction progress.
  • Relationship Building: Cultivate and maintain relationships with industry partners, investment banks, and other external & internal stakeholders to support corporate development initiative.
Qualifications
  • Education Level: Bachelor’s Degree Major: Finance or Accounting.
  • Degree must be from an accredited college or university.
  • 2+ years of experience in acquisitions, corporate development and de novo expansion projects preferred.
  • Accounting or Finance background preferred.

  • Ability to make decisions or solve problems by using logic to identify key facts, explore alternatives, and propose quality solutions.
  • Outstanding customer service skills as well as the ability to deal with people in a manner which shows tact and professionalism.
  • The ability to properly handle sensitive and confidential information (including HIPAA and PHI) in accordance with federal and state laws and company policies.
  • Strong business development and strategy experience.
  • Team player who possesses a desire and ability to work in a fast paced, goal oriented, high growth environment.
  • Demonstrated success in prospecting.
  • Proven ability to handle financial analysis requirements.
  • Strong understanding of economic, financial, competitive, and operational issues directly associated with serious opportunities.
  • Self-motivated and independent worker with follow-through capabilities and attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to present ideas effectively in oral and written presentations.
  • Excellent multi-task and organizational skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel & PowerPoint.
  • Robust written and oral communication skills.
