Job summary

Mission Measurement seeks an analytically strong Associate to work directly with government clients on outcomes measurement and evidence-informed grantmaking. You’ll analyze grant portfolios, develop frameworks, and produce polished work for senior audiences.

This mostly remote role offers ownership from day one, with exposure to leadership and a path toward an in-office move in 2027 near Washington, DC.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years of experience in consulting, professional services, or public sector roles.
• Subject-matter experience in evaluation, data analysis, impact measurement, financial analysis, or related areas.
• Interest in domestic social policy, grantmaking, or public-sector funding.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.
• High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Self-starter orientation: own tasks end-to-end and move proactively.
• Quantitative skills and ability to turn data into clear narratives for non-technical audiences.
• Experience with AI tools as part of analytical or research workflows.

Responsibilities

• Apply subject-matter expertise in performance measurement, evaluation, data analysis, or impact measurement to client engagements.
• Support development of strategic frameworks, assessments, and recommendations for public-sector clients.
• Conduct quantitative and qualitative analysis related to outcomes, performance, and effectiveness.
• Produce clear, accurate client deliverables, including slides, memos, and visualizations.
• Synthesize complex information into concise insights for diverse public-sector audiences.
• Support preparation of materials for client meetings, workshops, and working sessions.
• Support Managers in executing project plans and meeting timelines.
• Track tasks, inputs, and dependencies to ensure smooth project delivery.

Mission Measurement (MM) is a recognized leader in measuring social outcomes. We help federal, state, and local government define, analyze, and improve the results of grant investments in education, housing, public health, workforce development, and more.

At the center of our work is the Impact Genome Registry, the first-ever database with outcomes and cost benchmarks from over 2.2 million social programs. We help public agencies leverage IGR to track grant performance, uncover "what works," and invest where tax dollars will have the greatest impact.

Mission Measurement seeks an analytically strong Associate to work directly with government clients—including federal agencies, states, and other funding bodies—on outcomes measurement and evidence-informed grantmaking. Associates work alongside Managers and Directors on real client problems: analyzing the efficiency and effectiveness of grant portfolios and changing processes to improve funding decisions. This is a consulting role, not a research or policy position; you’ll move fast, adapt often, and produce polished work for senior audiences.

This role is a good fit if you’re early in your career, bring some subject-matter grounding in social impact or government data, and are energized by ambiguity rather than slowed by it. We’re a small, growing team—you’ll have real ownership of your work from day one and exposure to clients and leadership.

This role is mostly remote with the intent to move in-office in 2027. Candidates should be located near Washington DC.

Salary and Benefits
