Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental, Civil, or Chemical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Groundwater flow and/or contaminant transport modeling, GIS mapping, or related field coursework is a plus.
  • Experience with environmental regulatory programs, data management, risk assessment, and environmental sampling is a plus.
  • OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER training is a plus.
  • Willingness to travel up to 50% and valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

  • Perform field work including drilling oversight and sampling (soil, groundwater, surface water).
  • Oversee remediation systems operation, maintenance, and monitoring.
  • Assist with site investigation work plans, cost estimation, and data analysis.
  • Assist with conceptual site models and ecological assessments.
  • Assist in preparing technical and regulatory reports.
  • Collect and evaluate environmental sample data and apply engineering principles.
  • Follow corporate health and safety standards.

Your key responsibilities may include:
  • Perform field work, including coordinating and overseeing drilling, soil, sediment, groundwater, surface water, soil vapor, and indoor air sampling, surveying, and laboratory services. Additional responsibilities may include hydraulic testing such as slug tests and pumping tests, soil boring and monitoring well installation, and soil logging.
  • Provide oversight of the implementation and field management (including operation, maintenance, and monitoring) of various environmental remediation systems, including soil vapor extraction (SVE), enhanced in‑situ bioremediation (eISB), in‑situ chemical oxidation (ISCO), permeable reactive barriers (PRB), and groundwater extraction and treatment systems.
  • Assist with the development of comprehensive site investigation work plans by participating in scope of work development, cost estimation, budgeting, and data analysis to characterize contaminants in sediment, soil, soil vapor, air, surface water, and groundwater.
  • Assist with the development of Conceptual Site Models and ecological assessments.
  • Assist with the preparation and editing of technical and regulatory reports.
  • Collect, compile, and evaluate environmental sample data to characterize chemicals in environmental media.
  • Provide technical assistance and apply engineering principles on investigation and remediation projects.
  • Assist in the preparation of preliminary assessment reports, site and remedial investigation reports, feasibility studies, and other technical reports.
  • Follow corporate health and safety standards.
Your starting point for constant growth
  • At least a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental, Civil, or Chemical Engineering from an accredited institution.
  • Groundwater flow and/or contaminant transport modeling, GIS mapping, and/or field coursework (as applicable) are a plus.
  • Experience with environmental regulatory programs, database management, risk assessment, and environmental sampling is a plus.
  • OSHA 40‑hour HAZWOPER training is a plus.
  • Candidates must be willing to travel up to 50% of the time and possess a valid driver’s license. Most travel will be local; however, some may include overnight stays and may be out of state. Travel duration may range from one to 10 days, depending upon the specific requirements of each project.
  • The physical requirements of this position may include the need for climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, standing/sitting/walking, pushing/pulling, and lifting up to 40 pounds. Depending on assignment, this role may involve exposure to extreme weather (hot and cold), elevated noise levels, and site hazards such as proximity to moving machinery and vehicles, electrical currents, and potential chemical exposure. Salary Transparency Statement

At Ramboll, we are committed to fair and transparent compensation practices that support our people and our purpose of creating sustainable societies. The anticipated base salary range for this position is $58,500 to $76,000 per year. This range reflects the compensation we reasonably expect to offer at the time of posting. Actual compensation will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and internal equity. Because we operate across multiple U.S. markets, pay may differ depending on the cost of labor in specific locations. In addition to base salary, this position may be eligible for bonus, overtime or other forms of compensation and we offer a comprehensive benefits package that supports well‑being, professional development, and work‑life balance.
