Job summary

Olsson is seeking an Associate CMT Technician in Springfield, MO to collect construction materials samples, conduct tests, and document results to support project quality and safety.

You will travel to various job sites with a company truck, use PPE, and participate in mentorship and training programs. An associate degree is preferred; relevant certifications are a plus.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in construction observation, inspection, testing, or related field.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving history.
  • Associate degree from a technical or four-year school preferred but not required.
  • ACI Grade 1, ICC Nuclear Gauge, or DOT certifications preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Independently collect construction materials samples from various sites and perform tests.
  • Document findings and communicate results to project managers and stakeholders.
  • Travel to job sites; work in diverse terrains and weather conditions.
  • Operate with safety; utilize company truck, PPE, and provided equipment.

Job Description

As an Associate Construction Materials Testing (CMT) Technician, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and safety of construction projects. You will independently collect construction materials samples from various construction sites and perform tests and inspections to assess the properties and integrity of those materials, using specialized equipment and following established procedures and standards. You will document your findings and communicate results to project managers and other stakeholders, facilitating informed decision‑making and maintaining the structural integrity and safety of construction projects. You will also travel to various job sites and work in all types of terrain and weather conditions.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in construction observation, inspection, testing, or a related field

  • Associate degree from a technical or four‑year school, preferred but not required
  • American Concrete Institute (ACI) Grade 1, International Code Council (ICC) Nuclear Gauge, or applicable Department of Transportation/Road certifications, preferred but not required
