Job summary

First Interstate Bank is seeking an Associate Community Banker in our Fruitland, ID branch to deliver personalized client service and build strong client relationships. You will discuss client needs, open and maintain accounts, and guide customers to suitable solutions while following our service commitments and regulatory requirements.

The role emphasizes helping clients with deposits, loans, and referrals across banking lines, with daily interactions in person and by phone.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Banking or related experience preferred.
• Mortgage loan origination license preferred (SAFE Act) if applicable.

Responsibilities

• Delivers personalized client service in person and over the phone, answering questions and offering solutions.
• Opens and maintains checking and savings accounts, IRAs, CDs, and basic loan products as appropriate.
• Performs teller duties: cash handling, deposits, withdrawals, loan payments, and currency counting.
• Engages in conversations about and processes new consumer loan requests.
• Identifies referral opportunities across Home Loans, Treasury Solutions, Merchant Services, Business Banking, and Wealth Management.
• Maintains client relationships through proactive outreach and follow-up.
• Completes work accurately with minimal errors and adheres to policies.
• Participates in volunteer activities and financial education efforts.
• Keeps up-to-date with regulatory changes and bank procedures.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
