Job summary

G.E.H.A is seeking an Assoc Cloud Data Engineer to develop and maintain scalable data pipelines on Snowflake and Microsoft Azure. You will collaborate with business analysts and stakeholders to ensure seamless data flow and actionable insights within a cloud-native environment.

The role supports data development and governance in alignment with enterprise strategy, offering remote/hybrid options and growth opportunities in data analytics across healthcare data domains.

Qualifications

  • 1–2 years of relevant data/analytics experience; healthcare preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in CS, IT, Data Engineering or related field.
  • Hands-on Snowflake, Azure data tools, SQL; familiarity with Python or Spark.

Responsibilities

  • Support the cloud data framework aligned with Enterprise Data Strategy and goals.
  • Design and build scalable ETL/ELT pipelines for ingesting large datasets on Azure or Snowflake.
  • Design data solutions using ADF, ADLS and Snowflake for analytics and BI.
  • Collaborate with data analysts, architects, data scientists and project teams.
  • Ensure data privacy, security, and governance in cloud environments.
  • Automate monitoring and logging for data workflows and pipelines.
  • Troubleshoot data pipelines, data integrity, and platform performance.
  • Follow Change Management processes and participate in Scrum ceremonies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

As an Assoc Cloud Data Engineer, you will be assisting in developing and maintaining scalable data pipelines on Snowflake based technologies. You will collaborate with business data analysts, project managers, and G.E.H.A’s business stakeholders to build solutions that ensure seamless data flow and enable actionable insights. This role supports data development and maintenance efforts of the Data & Analytics activities and initiatives in alignment with the Enterprise Data strategy, policies, and organizational goals. This role will work in a cloud-native environment to design and optimize data solutions that improve performance, scalability, and efficiency of our data and analytics offerings.

SKILLS Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the cloud data framework that aligns with the Enterprise Data Strategy, policies, and organizational goals.
  • Design and Build Data Pipelines: Develop scalable, efficient, and secure ETL/ELT pipelines for ingesting, processing, storing, and consuming large datasets on Azure or Snowflake.
  • Cloud Data Architecture: Design and implement data solutions in Azure Data Factory (ADF), Azure Data Lake Storage (ADLS) and Snowflake to support analytics, business intelligence, and data science initiatives.
  • Collaborate with Stakeholders: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including business data analysts, data architects, data scientists, project managers and business units, to understand data requirements and implement data solutions that support business goals.
  • Data Security, Governance & Compliance: Follow the company standards and industry best practices to ensure data privacy, security, and compliance with relevant governance in the cloud environment.
  • Automation and Monitoring: Implement and manage automated monitoring and logging for all data workflows and pipelines to ensure data integrity and operational reliability.
  • Troubleshooting and Support: Troubleshoot issues with data pipelines, data integrity, and platform performance, providing timely resolutions to business-critical data needs.
  • Ensure that all deliverables follow the company Change Management process.
  • Participate in scrum, backlog grooming, refinement, planning and review sessions.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
  • Requires 1-2 years of relevant technical or business work experience with preferred experience within healthcare industry or data and analytics.
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Data Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field or comparable experience.
  • Firsthand experience with Snowflake, Microsoft Azure tools such as Azure Data Factory (ADF), Azure SQL Database, Azure Synapse, Azure Data Lake Storage (ADLS), and other Azure services.
  • Hand-on experience in Data Query language, like SQL, and experience with writing queries, stored procedures, and managing datasets.
  • Good understanding of ETL/ELT frameworks, ideally in Snowflake or Azure Data Factory.
  • Competent SQL skills or equivalent such Python, R, Apache Spark etc.
  • Familiarity with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines for data solutions.
  • Passion & eagerness to learn innovative technologies & techniques; eagerness towards understanding data & business processes to contribute & are effective.
  • Ability to work in a collaborative, cross-functional team environment.
  • Basic understanding of Agile and Scrum processes.
  • Prior knowledge or willingness to learn healthcare and analytics industries.
Work-at-home requirements
  • Must have the ability to provide a non-cellular High Speed Internet Service such as Fiber, DSL, or cable Modems for a home office.
  • A minimum standard speed for optimal performance of 30x5 (30mpbs download x 5mpbs upload) is required.
  • Latency (ping) response time lower than 80 ms
  • Hotspots, satellite and wireless internet service is NOT allowed for this role.
  • A dedicated space lacking ongoing interruptions to protect member PHI / HIPAA information

The target hiring range for this position is $75,696 - $95,760 USD. At G.E.H.A, the current maximum salary for this role is $106,704 USD. While initial compensation may vary based on experience and qualifications, there is a path to work toward this top rate through performance and continued growth within the organization.
