Job summary

Preferred Employers Insurance, A Berkley Company is seeking an Associate Claims Examiner (ACE) in California. The ACE handles indemnity payments, SROI filings, and benefits notices, ensuring timely processing and fiduciary responsibility for insureds under California regulations.

The role requires attention to detail, the ability to work independently and with teams, and strong MS Office skills. A bachelor’s degree and 2+ years of administrative experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree preferred.
• 2+ years of related administrative office work experience.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, attention to detail and deadline structures.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with all levels of staff.
• Proficient with MS Office software and PC applications and systems.
• Knowledge of workers’ compensation principles and policies preferred.

Responsibilities

• Enter claim indemnity payments, SROI filing, issue Benefit Notices, and reissue checks timely.
• Assist claims department staff and provide customer service to insureds.
• Coordinate with medical providers on disability status of claimants.
• Refer cases to Return to Work Coordinator and track status until offers or decisions.
• Maintain professional client relationships and timely notification of indemnity payments.
