Job summary

Pennoni Associates Inc. is seeking an Associate Transportation Civil Engineer for our Virginia Beach, VA office. You will join a design team delivering transportation projects for clients like VDOT and NCDOT in the Mid-Atlantic region.

Required skills include proficiency with MicroStation Connect, ORD, PW, and AutoCAD Civil 3D, plus highway design, H&H, utility layout, MOT schemes, and cost estimates. Excellent communication and report-writing are preferred.

Qualifications

• Proficiency with MicroStation Connect, ORD and PW.
• Highway and roadway design experience using MicroStation Connect, ORD and PW.
• Hydrology and Hydraulic (H&H) design experience.
• Utility design for water and sanitary sewer systems.
• Developing Maintenance of Traffic schemes, Construction Phasing and Traffic Control Plans.
• Developing project cost estimates and specifications, including Special Provisions.

Responsibilities

• Work as part of design team in the successful project delivery for clients including VDOT, NCDOT, and agencies in the Mid-Atlantic Region and locally administered transportation projects in Virginia.
• Contribute to transportation improvement, safety, bridge, and multi-use trail projects.

Pennoni Associates is currently seeking a Associate Transportation Civil Engineer to join our team in our Virginia Beach, VA office, with experience consistent, but not limited to:

• Work as a part of design team in the successful project delivery for clients including VDOT, NCDOT, and agencies in the Mid-Atlantic Region and locally administered transportation projects in Virginia.
• Project types include transportation improvement projects, safety improvement projects, bridge replacement projects and multi-use trail projects.

Required Attributes:

• MicroStation Connect, OpenRoads Designer (ORD) and ProjectWise (PW) experience or Autodesk/Civil 3-D experience
• Highway and roadway design experience using MicroStation Connect, ORD and PW
• Hydrology and Hydraulic (H&H) design experience
• Utility Design, water and sanitary sewer utility layout and lighting design
• Developing Maintenance of Traffic schemes, Construction Phasing and Traffic Control Plans
• Developing project cost estimates and specifications, including Special Provisions.

Preferred Attributes:

• Excellent communication skills–both oral and written.
• Experience with preparing technical reports and memorandums.
