Job summary

Carroll Engineering, Inc. in San Jose, CA is seeking a licensed Associate Civil Engineer to support site development from concept to construction documents for institutional, school, college, housing, commercial, public works, and parks projects.

The role requires AutoCAD Civil 3D proficiency and strong coordination with architects and clients. You will drive multi-project management, ensure ADA and building code compliance, and conduct earthworks calculations while visiting Bay Area job sites

Qualifications

  • PE license required; please include license number on resume.
  • Experience with school projects and DSA submittals.
  • Experience coordinating with Architects on California schools/institutional projects.
  • Criminal background check required.

  • Grading, drainage and utility (storm, sanitary and water) design.
  • Layout new parking lots and locate buildings.
  • Calculate earthworks.
  • Develop storm water management plans and calculations.

  • Prepare proposals and monitor project schedules.
  • Assist colleagues as needed.

Job description

Carroll Engineering, Inc. is a small Civil Engineering firm in San Jose, CA.

We are seeking a licensed Associate Civil Engineer to provide design support for site development projects from the conceptual phase through construction documents for small and large-scale Institutional, Schools K-12, College campuses, high density housing, commercial development, public works, and parks/recreation projects.

Responsibilities:
  • Assimilate topographic surveys and architectural site plans into AutoCAD and Civil 3D
  • Grading, drainage and utility (storm, sanitary and water) design
  • Layout new parking lots and locate buildings
  • Calculate earthworks
  • Develop storm water management plans and calculations
  • Coordination with clients, engineers and architects
  • Project management tasks such as preparing proposals for new work and monitoring schedules
  • Assist colleagues whenever necessary and other duties as assigned
Requirements:
  • PE required – please include license number on resume
  • Must have experience with school projects and DSA submittals
  • Experience coordinating with Architects on California schools/institutional projects
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D
  • A working knowledge of surveying and survey principles
  • Knowledge of ADA requirements and building code
  • Knowledge of storm water best management practices
  • College Degree in related field
  • The ability to work independently, multi-task and manage multiple projects
  • Criminal background check

Job Type: Full-time, Remote Hybrid – Must be able to drive to job sites in the Bay Area for punch walks at least once per week.

Salary: $120,000-$150,000 annually depending on experience. Signing bonus and potential ownership opportunity for well qualified candidates.
