Base pay range

$70,000.00/yr - $90,000.00/yr

Location: Reston, VA

Responsibilities

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Civil engineer with a strong background in the solid waste industry, site design, and land development. The ideal candidate will possess advanced AutoCAD Civil 3D skills, coupled with 2–3 years of hands-on experience in civil site design projects, including commercial properties, shopping centers, landfills, and landfill expansions/closures. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on critical infrastructure projects, build relationships with clients, and oversee design and construction.

1. Prepare and review engineering calculations, drawings, reports, and permit applications.
2. Manage projects and personnel to meet client and company expectations.
3. Make independent decisions on engineering or scientific problems, plan and coordinate work, and represent the company at meetings and conferences.
4. Conduct fieldwork in varied terrains and weather, including surveys, data gathering, construction quality assurance, and inspections.
5. Perform office-based tasks such as CAD drafting, calculations, report writing, site planning, facility design, and permit applications.
6. Receive technical guidance on complex problems and obtain supervisory approval for plans or projects.
7. Travel (day trips or overnight, approximately 10%).

Must Haves

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in the solid waste industry, civil site design, or land development.
• Proficiency with MS Office and relevant environmental consulting software.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D design software.
• Valid driver's license with a good driving record.

Plusses

• E.I.T. certification required; P.E. certification preferred.
