Are you an experienced Medical Lab Professional seeking a new challenge? LabCorp is looking for candidates to join our Mass Spectrometry team as an Associate Chemist in Burlington, NC. This role involves working in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment, contributing to our mission: “Improving Health, Improving Lives”.

Work Schedule

3rd shift, Thursday-Sunday, 10:00 pm - 8:30 am. Position is eligible for a 15% shift differential.

Benefits

Employees working 20+ hours per week are eligible for comprehensive benefits including Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, STD/LTD, 401(k), PTO or FTO, Tuition Reimbursement, and Employee Stock Purchase Plan. Part-time employees working less than 20 hours are eligible for the 401(k) plan only.

Job Responsibilities
  1. Review and certify LC/MS data using Analyst and Ascent software.
  2. Determine data acceptability and upload results.
  3. Verify calibration, quality controls, and patient data up to result entry.
  4. Perform minor troubleshooting and instrument prep of LC/MS systems.
  5. Learn department operations and procedures under supervision.
  6. Conduct qualitative and quantitative analyses on samples and participate in developing new procedures.
  7. Perform technical procedures following SOPs.
  8. Make technical decisions regarding testing and troubleshooting.
  9. Evaluate data for accuracy, identify, and correct errors.
  10. Guide technical staff in analysis and interpretation of results.
  11. Assist with training new employees.
  12. Perform preventive maintenance and quality control.
  13. Replenish testing supplies as needed.
Minimum Requirements
  1. Bachelor's degree in chemical, biological sciences, or related field, or meet CLIA & State requirements.
  2. At least 2 years of clinical laboratory testing experience.
  3. Experience with Chromatographic Data Review preferred.
  4. Strong technical proficiency and scientific knowledge.
  5. Understanding of laboratory functions and ability to exercise judgment.
  6. Proficiency with computers and laboratory information systems.
  7. Attention to detail, communication, and organizational skills.
  8. Ability to work independently and in a team.
  9. Able to pass a color vision test.
  10. Flexibility for overtime or shift changes.
