The Role: As the Associate Chemist, reporting to the R&D Director - Industrial Solutions, you will be responsible for running chemical reactions, perform typical characterization, application testing and solving quality control product issues under the direction of a chemist. Additionally, you will for support aspects of development of new products, procedures, and test methods.

How You Will Make An Impact

R&D – Product Development

  • Assist chemists in developing and improving chemical products and processes.
  • Perform chemical reactions and physical/chemical tests.
  • Analyze and report test results; identify irregularities in data.
  • Suggest alternative experimental approaches where appropriate.
  • Maintain clear, detailed, and organized lab notebooks.
  • Keep lab equipment in good working order and support routine maintenance and calibration.

R&D – Product Application Testing

  • Conduct product application testing in areas like flow assurance, separation technologies, fuels, and lubricants.
  • Benchmark in-house vs. competitor products and organize data for analytics.
  • Manage sample inventories and support product performance evaluations for product development leaders.
  • Adhere to company EH&S regulations, SI Group Responsible Care practices and ISO 9000 programs

Creating Extraordinary Starts With

  • BS degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Material Science or any hard-core sciences with a minimum of 3 years related industrial experience; or
  • MS degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Material Science or any hard-core sciences with a minimum of 1 year related industrial experience
  • Previous experience in oilfield, lubricants and/or synthesis preferred
