The role emphasizes Sanctuary practice within a trauma-responsive culture. The Associate Chaplain will coordinate worship opportunities, provide religious education, and offer pastoral care while aligning Biblical content with Baptist beliefs and serving as a liaison with staff and community

Qualifications

• Must be 25 years of age or older.
• Bachelor’s degree in religion/Divinity or Chaplaincy certification or in progress toward certification.
• Three years’ experience in ministry or related field (social work, psychology).
• Must demonstrate initiative, be self-directed, and work well independently.
• Outstanding oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Be a committed Christian and active member of an evangelical church.
• Ability to manage time, set priorities, and organize routines.
• Basic computer skills and adaptability to learning new software.
• Capable of handling multiple tasks simultaneously.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and assist with weekly worship opportunities for clients who cannot leave campus.
• Provide regular religious education opportunities for all clients.
• Ensure Biblical content aligns with Baptist beliefs.
• Teach Bible/religious courses on campus as needed.
• Be available to clients and staff for faith guidance and discipleship.
• Provide pastoral care for clients and staff.
• Serve as client ombudsman.
• Demonstrate leadership and teamwork within the program.
• Maintain cooperative relationships with other staff for positive outcomes.
• Liaise with professionals and coordinate with sponsors.
