Job summary

Bayer is seeking an Associate Cell Culture Scientist in Berkeley, CA to develop and optimize cell culture and bioprocess workflows, helping to transfer processes from lab to production and support mAb and cell therapy programs.

You will work under GMP guidelines, analyze data, troubleshoot issues, and mentor laboratory staff while producing robust, compliant documentation for cross‑functional teams.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience designing and executing cell culture and/or mAb process development experiments.
• Strong data analysis and problem-solving skills with ability to interpret results.
• Working knowledge of GMP principles and experience supporting clinical or commercial manufacturing activities.
• Document work thoroughly and maintain audited laboratory notebooks.
• Collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary project teams and communicate results clearly.

Responsibilities

• Design and conduct moderate to complex process development experiments for mAb and cell therapy programs.
• Execute GMP-compliant activities during clinical manufacturing and complete required GMP training.
• Analyze data, interpret results and drive process improvements.
• Evaluate and implement new methods, techniques, and assays to improve performance.
• Provide guidance and day‑to‑day supervision to laboratory technicians and maintain quality documentation.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to support process transfers and scale‑up.
