Job Description / Responsibilities

Reporting to the Sr. Category Manager, the Category Manager - Military will lead datariven initiatives that uncover growth opportunities and improve performance across multiple retail partners, with a focus on the Military channel. This role will be critical in transforming syndicated and customer-specific data into meaningful insights that influence sales strategy, promotional planning, and retail execution. The Category Manager will work closely with cross-functional teams in sales, category management, and marketing, delivering insights that move the business forward.

Location: This is a fully remote role and may be based in Dallas, Texas.

Key Responsibilities
  • Demonstrate the ability to synthesize & leverage multiple data points/insights (shopper, consumer, category, product) to create retail strategies on Assortment, Merchandising and Shelving that unlock growth.
  • Analyze syndicated and customer data (Nielsen, Circana, retailer systems) to identify opportunities within key retail and Military channels.
  • Partner with category managers and Military account teams to build data-backed recommendations and business reviews.
  • Create dashboards and data visualizations (Power BI, Tableau) to track KPIs and identify trends
  • Monitor Competitive Launches and their impact on business.
  • Build reporting for Space to sales analysis across customers.
  • Work on updating POS data reporting on monthly and quarterly basis.
  • Prep, cleanse, and integrate multiple data sources for a complete analysis.
  • Develop reports and tools that improve the use of data across the organization.
  • Stay current on Military channel dynamics, trends, and compliance requirements.
  • Manage ad-hoc analytics projects and support reporting automation to improve operational efficiency.
Qualifications / Requirements

MUST HAVE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Finance, Accounting, Data Analytics, or related field
  • Minimum of 3 years of analytical experience in consumer goods, retail, or other relevant industry experience
  • Minimum of 1 year of retailer/customer facing experience
  • Ability to quickly learn new systems/processes
  • Exceptional organization, prioritization, & project management skills
  • Self-starter with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent critical thinking skills, initiative, attention to detail and creativity
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills; ability to partner across remote teams
  • Demonstrate the ability to work as a team as well as self-directed
  • General curiosity and willingness to adopt/learn new approaches to analyzing data
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint.
  • Expert level Excel with experience using tools such as VLOOKUP, Index Match, Advanced conditional formatting, Pivot Tables/charts and reporting, Macros and VBA, and Data simulations.
  • Proficiency in data visualization and dashboard creation (Power BI, Tableau, or equivalent)
  • Skilled in building reporting in POS data Circana (IRI) or Nielsen, Retail Link, Madrid and demonstrated success in delivering productivity.
  • Willingness to travel 10 -15%
  • Ability to work remote
  • A valid driver's license

PREFERRED:

  • Working knowledge of JDA/Space Planning tools
  • Experience in Alcohol Beverage Industry or CPG overall
  • Familiarity with Military channel (DeCA, AAFES, NEXCOM, etc.)
