IBM Consulting is seeking an Associate Business Transformation Consultant (BTC) for the university hire program in the United States. You will work at the intersection of technology, people, and process, helping clients transform their business strategies with data-driven insights and AI-enabled learning paths.

From day one, you’ll collaborate with global clients, build a portfolio of projects, and access certifications and digital badges on IBM’s AI-driven learning platform, guided by mentors

Qualifications

Experience with ETL/ELT projects and data warehouse design.
Proficiency in SQL and Python for data analytics.
Familiarity with dbt, Snowflake, BigQuery, Airflow, data modeling and CI/CD basics.
Willingness to travel up to 100% as project demands.

Your role and responsibilities

As an Associate Business Transformation Consultant (BTC) at IBM, you'll work right at the intersection of technology, people, and process, helping our clients transform how they adapt to shifts in the market and more closely align their business strategy and vision. You'll help clients understand leading technologies and the impact they can have on traditional business processes, as well as an opportunity to build a powerful portfolio of interesting and rewarding experiences. Leveraging a growth mindset, you're ready and willing to deliver business value, wherever needed.

These positions are anticipated to start in 2027.

Key Responsibilities:

Data Analysis: Collect and analyze data to identify trends, providing clients with actionable insights to enhance marketing, operational, and business practices.

Data Visualization: Create visually compelling and user-friendly data visualizations, dashboards, and reports to effectively communicate findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Data Quality Assurance: Ensure the integrity, accuracy, and reliability of data through rigorous data cleaning, validation, and preprocessing procedures.

Client Collaboration: Work with the project team to prioritize and translate Client requirements and define current and future operational scenarios (processes, models, use cases, plans, and solutions).

Presentation of Insights: Present analytical findings and recommendations clearly and concisely, demonstrating the value of data-driven decision-making to clients.

Consulting Skills:
- Advocates business process transformation by analyzing application portfolios across the ecosystem to identify process optimization and automation opportunities, leveraging planning, project management, and Agile methodologies to drive effective solutions.
- Demonstrates strong communication, problem-solving, adaptability, and teamwork skills, with a collaborative mindset, curiosity to learn, and the ability to clearly articulate ideas, ask insightful questions, and recommend solutions.

Required education

Required technical and professional expertise

Ability to understand clients' needs and challenges and apply a creative and logical approach to identify solutions.

Ability to communicate complex situations clearly and simply by listening actively and conveying difficult messages in a positive manner.

Ability to apply logic to solve business problems through a detailed analytical approach.

Experience: ETL/ELT projects, data warehouse design, analytics pipelines, and capstone data engineering.

Skills/Tech: SQL, Python,dbt, Snowflake,BigQuery, Airflow, data modeling, CI/CD basics.

Data Engineer skills- pipeline design, infrastructure, vector databases, deployment, and scalability.

Willingness to travel 100%, based on project requirements.

Preferred technical and professional experience

Preferred bachelor’s degree in a related field (Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Math, MIS, Computer Engineering, Data Science,or related fields).

Ability to handle multiple tasks concurrently and meet deadlines, while maintaining focus in an environment with conflicting demands

Practical project experience or relevant training.

General skills: GenAI literacy - prompt engineering, RAG, fine-tuning, and evaluation of generative models.
