Associate Business Systems Analyst - Onshore Ops (Finance)

Job Summary

Join our Onshore Land Operations team as an Associate Business Systems Analyst. This role is ideal for recent or upcoming college graduates eager to build a career at the intersection of data, technology, and upstream oil and gas operations. You will receive mentorship and hands-on experience supporting and improving critical business systems while learning to convert data into insights that inform operational decisions.

This position offers mentorship in upstream oil and gas systems and tools, providing guidance and support for your career growth. You will have a clear career path with increasing responsibilities, ensuring ongoing professional development. From day one, you will work on high-impact projects essential to efficient and accurate business operations, making your work meaningful and rewarding.

The role is based in our Houston Corporate office with a hybrid work schedule of two days remote per week.

Responsibilities
  • Assist with setup and maintenance of wells and allocation networks in production systems.
  • Support users of software such as eVIN, ProCount, and Carte, including troubleshooting, small enhancements, and report creation.
  • Create dashboards and visual reports (Power BI/Spotfire) to support business operations.
  • Participate in testing and deployment of system upgrades or new tools.
  • Write and modify SQL queries and Python scripts to support analytics and automation.
  • Build and automate workflows using Microsoft Power Platform tools like Power Automate and Power Apps.
  • Support improvement projects such as SQL report optimization, emissions and downtime dashboards, and ensuring data accuracy.
Qualifications/Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Science, Data Analytics, Business, or a related field.
  • Experience or coursework in SQL and Python.
  • Experience or coursework with Microsoft Power Platform (Power BI, Power Automate, Power Apps).
  • Strong problem-solving skills and eagerness to learn.
  • Effective communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

The candidate must adhere to safety protocols. The work environment is primarily indoors, with some physical requirements such as transporting items up to 25 lbs. Reasonable accommodations will be provided as needed.
