Job summary

JLL in Charleston, SC seeks an Associate Broker in a team-based role supporting brokerage activities and client deliverables. You will prepare materials, build Excel tools, and analyze market data to inform decisions for high-level clients and executives.

The ideal candidate has up to 3+ years in CRE, solid Excel skills, and strong communication abilities. On-site work location is Charleston, SC with a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Entry level to 3+ years in commercial real estate.
• Strong computer orientation with Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
• Ability to analyze qualitative and quantitative information and translate into strategic deliverables.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and within a team to build relationships with business partners.
• Ability to multi-task and manage time under pressure.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Real Estate, or related field preferred.
• State Real Estate License required within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Prepare offering materials for new or existing assignments and pursuits.
• Create sophisticated Excel-based analytical tools including macro-enabled financial models.
• Assist with preparations of presentation and pitch materials.
• Gather and evaluate economic, demographic, and real estate market data for client deliverables.
• Read and review real estate documents and prepare abstracts for clients.
• Point of contact for tracking, management, reporting.
• Review and analyze client portfolio data, legal documents, and other material.
• Attend JLLU 13-week training for new Associate Brokers.
• Support senior brokers in business development and outreach to new leads.
• Shadow senior brokers in transaction negotiation, evaluation, and documentation.
• Contribute to local market research requests and market decks.

What this job involves -

This position requires a desire for success, strong work ethic, aspirations for career development in commercial real estate, and the aptitude to handle complex transactions. This is a team-based role, which will require interaction with owners, C-Suite executives, and high level corporate real estate decision makers.

This position will report to Senior Team Leaders and will support brokerage activities by assisting and completing special projects as assigned to support quality decision making by clients and brokerage team. The ideal candidate must be articulate; detail-oriented and will execute on the below job functions with a high level of quality and accuracy.

• Prepare offering materials for new or existing assignments and pursuits utilizing effective work planning capabilities.


• Create sophisticated Excel-based analytical tools including macro-enabled financial models, running ad-hoc financial analysis.


• Assist with the preparations of presentation and pitch materials for new business pursuits.


• Gather and evaluate economic, demographic, and real estate market data for input into client deliverables and valuation models.


• Read and review real estate documents (i.e. leases, operating expense statements, environmental and engineering reports, appraisals, etc.) and prepare abstract reports for clients and prospective clients.


• Point of contact for tracking, management, reporting.


• Review and analyze client’s quantitative portfolio data, legal documents, and other material as part of project due diligence process.


• Attend JLL University (“JLLU”) which is a 13-week training, development, and networking program specifically for our new Associate Brokers.


• Support the senior brokers in initiating business development activities and taking initiative to outreach to new leads (cold calls, warm calls, emails, etc.)


• Shadow senior brokers in transaction negotiation, evaluation, and documentation.


• Contribute to designated local market research requests: market snapshots, market overviews, quarterly market decks, topic specific research to support pitches and brokerage opportunities.
