Job summary

001 Brown & Brown, Inc is seeking an individual to review and broker Excess & Surplus risks while conducting visits to agencies and carriers as necessary. Candidates should possess at least one year of P&C insurance experience and an active state insurance license.

Job description

Responsibilities

• Review new and renewal applications to evaluate difficult and/or complex Excess & Surplus (E&S) risks in various lines of business and determine acceptability or declination of coverage requests.
• Broker those risks to viable carriers for coverage.
• Confirm that application information is appropriate to determine placement of coverage.
• Conduct agency and carrier visits as needed outside the profit center location.
• Perform brokerage work for complex E&S assignments during the daily workload and use binding authority process when applicable and prudent.
• Accept or decline risks and determine placement of risks with various carriers using independent decision‑making and discretion.
• Obtain prospects and actively pursue and create interest by telephone calls, written letters, or personal visits.
• Implement methods for promotion of policies or improvements to processes.
• Ensure quotes and binders are confirmed in writing, policies are issued promptly and accurately, state filings (where applicable) are completed, and taxes paid within applicable state laws.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Active state insurance license.
• One (1) or more years of successful P&C insurance experience.
