Job summary

SCA Health is seeking an Associate Billing Representative Clerk to enter charges from patient visits, submit claims to insurers, and work rejections with the A/R teams in the revenue cycle at our regional business office.

The role requires a high school diploma and at least one year of medical billing experience, with knowledge of medical terminology and coding, and MS Office proficiency. This on-site position supports CA facilities with a Monday–Friday schedule.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum one year medical billing experience required.
• Experience manually entering charges and handling rejections.
• Strong understanding of medical terminology and coding.
• Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Outlook, Excel).
• Preferred: Associate degree or certificate in medical billing & coding or related program.
• Two or more years of medical billing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Enter charges from patient visits into billing system and adjust as needed.
• Submit claims to insurance companies (commercial, third party, government, or self-pay).
• Resolve billing rejections and make corrections as needed.
• Follow up on pending claims and drive to resolution.
• Review variance reports and report trends; strive to meet metrics.

Responsibilities

** This position handles CA facilities. The work schedule will be Monday - Friday from 10:30am - 7pm EST / 9:30am - 6pm CST / 7:30am - 4pm PST **

* Must have Manual Front End Charge Entry Billing experience *

The Associate Billing Representative Clerk takes coded patient visits and enters the charges into the systems, submits the claim to the insurance company, and works on rejections they may receive with our A/R collections team. The medical biller position works in the revenue cycle department at our regional business office and works closely with our collections team.

• Pull information from the system and enter the charges, make any adjustments, utilize internal databases, optimize the codes and submit the claim electronically or by paper
• Prepares and completes claims for commercial insurance companies, third party organizations and/or government or self-payers
• Complete billing rejections and make corrections as needed
• Follow up on pending claims and work them to resolution
• Review the variance report and identify and report any trends found
• Consistently achieve defined metrics

Qualifications

Required:

• High school diploma or GED
• Minimum one-year medical billing experience
• Previous experience manually entering charges and working rejections
• Thorough understanding of medical terminology and medical coding
• Working knowledge of MS Office including Word, Outlook, and Excel

Preferred:

• Associate Degree, diploma, or certificate in medical billing & coding, healthcare management, or related program
• Two or more years of medical billing experience
• Prior experience with HST helpful but not required
