About the Job

Sanford Health is seeking an Associate Behavioral Health Counselor to join the Behavioral Health Prime West Crisis Residential Team in Bemidji, Minnesota. This position is team-based, sharing responsibility for patient well-being among the treatment team. The Associate Behavioral Health Counselor will assess patient needs, develop treatment plans, implement interventions, provide progress updates to the interdisciplinary team, and may educate patient support members about patient issues and interventions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in behavioral sciences or related field preferred, with completion of a practicum or internship.
• In Minnesota, must adhere to Minnesota State statute defining Mental Health Practitioner.
• At least 4,000 hours of supervised experience in delivering services to individuals with mental illness, substance use disorders, emotional disturbances, traumatic brain injury, or developmental disabilities.
• OR, at least 30 semester hours or 45 quarter hours in behavioral sciences or related fields, plus at least 2,000 hours of supervised work experience in similar service delivery.
