About the Job

Sanford Health is hiring an Associate Behavioral Health Counselor – Mobile Crisis in Thief River Falls, Minnesota. This is an on-call position with flexible scheduling, including overnights, weekends, and some holidays. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in behavioral sciences or a related field, along with experience working with individuals with mental illness, substance use disorders, or emotional disturbances.

The Associate Behavioral Health Counselor will assess patient needs, develop treatment plans, and implement treatment interventions. The successful candidate will also continually assess patients’ progress and revise treatment plans and interventions accordingly. The candidate should be able to work effectively in a team-based environment and stay current on emerging issues in the profession.

Job Responsibilities

  7. Provide patient progress updates to the interdisciplinary team

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in behavioral sciences or related field preferred
  • Completion of a practicum or internship
  • At least 4,000 hours of supervised experience in delivering services to individuals with mental illness, substance use disorders, emotional disturbances, traumatic brain injury, or developmental disabilities
  • OR
  • At least 30 semester hours or 45 quarter hours in behavioral sciences or related fields, plus at least 2,000 hours of supervised work experience in delivering services to individuals with the above conditions
