What you’ll do in the role:

Morgan Stanley & Co. LLC is seeking an Associate, Banking in New York, New York to work with regional and international clients on a wide range of complex transactions including acquisitions, divestitures, mergers, joint ventures, corporate restructurings, shareholder relations, recapitalizations, demergers, leveraged buyouts, and defenses against unsolicited takeover attempts. Contribute to strategic advisory assignments and executions of public and private capital markets transactions. Work closely with senior professionals throughout the firm to deliver high quality advice to clients.

What you’ll bring to the role:

-Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Communication, Finance, or a related field of study

-Requires three (3) years of experience in the position offered or three (3) years as an Associate, Analyst, or a closely related occupation

-Requires three (3) years of experience with the following skills:

  • Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint;
  • financial statements;
  • Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS);
  • Capital IQ;
  • rating agency and syndicated debt process;
  • investment banking procedures;
  • corporate finance transaction structuring and analysis;
  • synthesizing large amounts of data and developing solutions; and
  • financial, legal, and reputational risks facing large integrated investment banks.
  • Requires one (1) year of experience with the following skills:
  • financial modelling including discounted cash flow, leveraged buyout, precedent transaction, and comparable company analyses;
  • PitchBook;
  • buyside and sellside mergers & acquisitions;
  • equity including Initial Public Offerings (IPOs), follow-ons, and block trades; and
  • operating and valuation models including dividend discount model and ability- to-pay.

Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $175,000 and $225,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
