What you’ll do in the role:

Morgan Stanley Investment Management Inc. is seeking an Associate, Acquisition in New York, New York to evaluate and conduct diligence on investment opportunities. Construct company financial forecast and valuation models to evaluate opportunities. Source deals, track prospective deals, screen pitches and product demos, etc. Generate Investment memoranda on investment opportunities, addressing the target company, industry, market and exit landscape. Monitor performance of existing portfolio companies. Keep current with market developments, such as new investment products and movements in the economy.

What you’ll bring to the role:
  • Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Information Sciences, Finance, or a related field of study
  • Requires five (5) years of experience in the position offered or five (5) years as an Associate, Analyst, or a closely related occupation
  • Requires five (5) years of experience with the following skills:
  • corporate finance and accounting;
  • investment principles and financial products and securities;
  • quantitative and financial modeling;
  • financial analysis including Discounted Cash Flow analysis, Discounted Equity Valuation analysis, Leveraged Buyout analysis, Comparable Companies analysis, and Precedent Transaction analysis;
  • Microsoft Office, S&P Capital IQ, PitchBook, and Salesforce;
  • coverage for industries including telecommunications and media, consumer, proptech, and healthcare;
  • Investment and deal execution;
  • Conducting broad market and commercial research to source investment opportunities;
  • Tracking industry trends and developing investment and exit theses for new and existing investments;
  • Handling and maintaining investment, portfolio, and fund-level valuation models and reporting;
  • Monitoring and interpreting market trends in various subsectors for investment tracking; and
  • Utilizing fundamental research, industry contacts, and other resources for comprehensive investment analysis and idea generation.

Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $225,000 and $225,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
