GIC Private Equity (PE)

GIC is a global investment firm and has one of the largest and broadest private equity programmes amongst all institutions. GIC PE invests across the Americas, Europe and the Asia-Pacific in a range of sectors including Healthcare, Consumer, Financial services, Technology, Industrials, Sustainable Energy and Infrastructure. Besides investing through private equity fund managers, GIC PE also invests across the capital structure in equity, senior and junior debt, in secondary PE deals, restructuring & opportunistic credit and special situations. We currently have over 100 active relationships with fund managers and have invested directly in more than 1000 companies globally across multiple sectors.

What will you do in the role?

As a Quantitative Strategist in Private Equity, you will be responsible for extracting meaningful insights from large and complex datasets. You will work closely with investment teams to identify business problems, formulate hypotheses, and provide data-driven solutions.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to work on a wide range of projects, collaborating with cross-functional teams and leveraging cutting-edge technologies. We are looking for individuals who are passionate about data science, possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and have a deep understanding of statistical modeling and machine learning algorithms.Collaborate with investment teams to understand business problems and provide data-driven solutions :

  • Gather and preprocess large datasets from various sources
  • Design, develop, and implement statistical models and machine learning algorithms
  • Analyze and interpret complex data, and provide actionable insights
  • Create dashboards to communicate findings and support decision-making processes.
  • Collaborate with data engineers and IT teams to ensure data quality, integrity, and accessibility.
  • Communicate findings and present results to stakeholders

  • Stay updated on the latest developments in quantitative finance, private equity markets, and AI technologies.

What qualifications, skills and traits should you possess in this role?

  • An academic degree in fields such as Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, Economics and Finance fields with experience in a data-driven professional setting
  • Experience working with quantitative models, conducting model validation, and performing statistical analysis.
  • Comfortable working with, and combining, disparate and diverse data sources
  • A strong intuition for analytical methodologies and desire to solve novel technical challenges
  • Proficiency in the following coding languages – Python, SQL
  • Positive work attitude, high energy candidates with drive and initiative
  • Eagerness to learn the private equity investment process and willingness to learn other skillsets required for this role, as and when they are required
  • Ability to work effectively with different stakeholders and demonstrate maturity and integrity to interact confidently with senior colleagues
