Job summary

ABB is seeking an Associate Project Engineer to design and modify pre-engineered designs for equipment and systems within the Automation Energy Industries in the USA, based in Cary, NC. The role involves collaborating with a design team, creating drawings, calculations and BOMs, with training in Houston or Cleveland before relocating to Cary.

Expect to travel up to 80% and contribute to ABB's pre-engineered solutions, while delivering engineering instructions and processes to support project

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical or Computer Engineering.
• Up to 2 years of experience in design and execution as an Engineer with Distribution Control Systems preferred.
• Fluent reading, writing and speaking of English.
• Legal eligibility to work in the USA.
• Location: Cary, NC with training in Houston, TX or Cleveland, OH and relocation to Cary.

Responsibilities

• Work as part of an integrated design team to meet project requirements and deliverables.
• Design automation enclosures and establish system cabinet assembly requirements.
• Certify equipment outline drawings, power consumption and cooling requirements for ABB equipment.
• Generate system orders for ABB equipment and procurement for third-party equipment; monitor delivery status.
