Responsibilities

  • Handles plaintiff mass tort cases.
  • Prepares pleadings, briefs, affidavits, motions, and settlement agreements.
  • Conducts legal research, prepares for and attends hearings and other proceedings.
  • Interviews and deposes witnesses.
  • Maintains client files in an organized fashion and communicates with attorneys, paralegals, and clients.
  • Oversees a student law clerk as needed.

Pay: $80,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year

Supervisory Responsibilities
  • At times there may be a student law clerk whom you will be asked to oversee in their daily tasks.
Duties/Responsibilities
  • Handles plaintiff cases, with an emphasis on mass tort.
  • Prepares correspondence and legal documents such as pleadings, briefs, affidavits, motions, and settlement agreements for negotiations and proceedings.
  • Conducts legal research, prepares for and attends hearings and/or other legal proceedings, and provides legal counsel.
  • Analyzes conflicts in legal matters, advises clients on solutions, and negotiates on behalf of clients.
  • Communicates with attorneys, paralegals, and clients to ensure cases are handled efficiently.
  • Maintains client files in an organized fashion to ensure up-to-date information is available for other attorneys, paralegals, and support staff.
  • Interviews and deposes witnesses and further facilitates the discovery process.
  • Maintains knowledge of legal developments, including completion of continuing legal education.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Education And Experience
  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school required.
  • Active state bar membership in good standing.
  • Must be eligible and willing to seek admission pro hac vice nationally.
  • Two years or more of litigation experience preferred.
  • Experience in preparing cases for trial including analyzing and determining proper exhibit lists, witness lists, motions in limine and trial brief is a plus.
Physical and Location Requirements
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
  • Must be willing to travel periodically
  • Outside of periodic travel this position is 100% remote
