LHH Recruitment Solutions is working with a growing Pennsylvania law firm that is looking to add a litigation associate to a busy plaintiffs’ litigation team in its Fort Washington office.
This is a particularly interesting opportunity for an attorney who wants to actually learn how to litigate cases, rather than spend the first several years of practice primarily conducting research and handling discrete assignments.
The practice is focused primarily on plaintiffs’ medical malpractice litigation, with additional matters involving personal injury and crime-victim cases.
This search is intentionally broader than the typical medical-malpractice opening.
Medical malpractice experience is not required.
The most important qualities are strong writing skills, intellectual curiosity, a strong work ethic, and a genuine desire to become a litigator.
This is not a heavily remote position. Attorneys are expected in the Fort Washington office Monday through Thursday because the team places significant value on collaboration, sitting in on matters, learning from other attorneys, and being part of the day-to-day practice.
Base compensation is expected to be in the low-$100Ks and increases with experience, with additional annual bonus and origination opportunities. The firm also offers a benefits package that includes medical, prescription and dental coverage, a 401(k) safe-harbor contribution of up to 3%, disability coverage, coverage of CLEs and dues, a marketing budget and more.
For the right attorney, the biggest selling point may be the combination of training and opportunity. You do not need to arrive knowing how to handle a medical malpractice case. The firm is prepared to teach you.
What they do want is someone who wants to become a real litigator: write well, learn quickly, take depositions, get into court, interact with clients, take ownership of cases, and steadily build greater responsibility.
The team is busy and looking to hire as soon as possible.
