Job Overview:
A consumer-focused law firm is seeking a California-licensed Associate Attorney to provide legal representation to individuals dealing with debt-related legal matters. The role centers on collection defense and includes the opportunity to pursue affirmative claims for violations of federal and state consumer protection laws. This position is remote and open to candidates residing in any U.S. state. Preference will be given to candidates licensed in multiple jurisdictions. The attorney will manage a docket of litigation cases, supervise a support team, and play a key role in strategy, client relations, and case resolution.

Duties:
Represent individual clients in debt-related litigation matters
Analyze client situations and provide legal options
Respond to pleadings, attend court hearings, and appear at trials as needed
Manage legal support staff, including paralegal and legal assistants
Maintain regular communication and updates with clients
Oversee collection of documentation and evidence from clients
Conduct and supervise settlement negotiations
Monitor settlement trends and adjust strategies as necessary
File claims for violations of state and federal consumer protection laws
Address post-settlement matters and client concerns
Handle additional duties as assigned
Requirements:
Minimum of 3 years’ litigation experience (preferred)
Active license to practice law in California (required)
Additional state licensure(s) strongly preferred
Must be in good standing in all jurisdictions of licensure
Willingness to supervise legal support staff
Must pass a criminal background check
Education:
Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school
Certifications:
Licensure in multiple states (preferred)
