Job Overview
A law firm seeks a driven and entrepreneurial Associate Attorney to join its team in New Philadelphia, Ohio. Duties
- Provide skilled legal representation to clients within the designated geographic or practice area.
- Develop case strategies, oversee legal proceedings, and manage client expectations.
- Estimate legal service costs, communicate financial obligations to clients, and maintain retainer balances.
- Represent clients in court appearances, hearings, and trials, ensuring high advocacy standards.
- Handle negotiations, mediations, and settlements to achieve favorable outcomes.
- Collaborate with professionals such as CPAs, social workers, and mental health experts to advance case objectives.
- Manage cases efficiently with support from paralegals and administrative staff.
- Participate in networking, marketing, and community engagement to expand client base and firm presence.
Requirements
- Minimum of 3–5 years of litigation experience.
- Proven ability to develop and maintain a book of business.
- Strong leadership skills with effective task and deadline management.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency with case management systems and virtual collaboration tools.
- Willingness to travel occasionally for hearings and trials.
Education
Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
Certifications
Active membership in the Ohio State Bar (additional Bar admissions are a plus).
