Duties

  1. Represent employees in employment-related legal matters, including discrimination and whistleblowing cases.
  2. Advocate before administrative agencies such as the EEOC, MSPB, and OSC.
  3. Handle cases involving employee discipline, internal investigations, and demand letters.
  4. Manage all aspects of casework, from developing claims and interviewing clients to drafting pleadings and conducting discovery.
  5. Participate in depositions, mediations, negotiations, court appearances, and hearings.
  6. Maintain regular communication with clients and provide legal advice.
  7. Conduct legal research and draft legal documents.
  8. Collaborate with senior attorneys and receive mentorship and feedback.

Requirements

  • 4-8 years of experience in employment and labor law or related fields.
  • Prior litigation experience in administrative agencies, courts, or with arbitrators (highly preferred).
  • Experience with labor organizations or employment-related legal work (advantage).
  • Strong writing, analytical, and research skills.
  • Effective communication with clients and stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage a diverse caseload and work independently or as part of a team.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Admission to the District of Columbia Bar or eligibility without examination.
  • Admission to Virginia and/or Maryland Bar is a plus.
