The Jonus Group is seeking an experienced Associate Attorney to join its growing insurance defense litigation practice in Denver, Colorado. You will manage a diverse caseload from intake to resolution, working with carrier clients and senior attorneys to uphold client service, case management, and strong litigation performance.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
• Active bar license required.
• 3+ years of civil litigation experience, with a primary focus on insurance defense.
• Experience handling trials, arbitrations, mediations, and depositions.
• Experience working with carrier clients and adhering to carrier litigation guidelines.
• Strong written and verbal advocacy skills.
• Demonstrated ability to maintain accurate, compliant billing practices.
• Proficiency with legal research tools and case management software.

Responsibilities

• Manage a docket of insurance defense matters, including general liability, auto liability, professional liability, premises liability, construction defect, and related claims.
• Conduct legal research and draft pleadings, motions, briefs, correspondence, and other legal documents.
• Take and defend depositions, including expert and key witness depositions.
• Attend hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and trials.
• Communicate proactively with carrier clients regarding case strategy, status updates, budgets, and litigation developments.
• Comply with carrier litigation guidelines and billing protocols.
• Coordinate and manage expert witnesses, including obtaining approvals, monitoring budgets, and ensuring timely invoicing.
• Collaborate with attorneys, paralegals, and legal support staff to ensure efficient case management.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to less experienced legal team members as appropriate.

Compensation Package

• Salary Range: $110,000 – $145,000+ annually, based on experience.
