Job summary

BCG Attorney Search in San Francisco, CA seeks an Associate Attorney with at least 5 years of experience in insurance coverage and insurance defense litigation to join our office. You will handle complex policy analysis, coverage-related disputes, and draft substantive motions in state and federal court.

Responsibilities include all phases of coverage analysis, drafting opinions and letters, pleadings and motions, and client collaboration. A California bar license is required.

Qualifications

• Active California bar license required.
• 5+ years of experience in insurance coverage and/or insurance defense litigation.
• Strong law and motion experience, including drafting dispositive and discovery motions.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Draft coverage opinions, reservation of rights letters, and other coverage-related communications.
• Draft pleadings, dispositive motions, discovery motions, and other substantive filings.
• Provide strategic legal advice to insurance company clients and collaborate with claims professionals and adjusters.
• Monitor underlying litigation and evaluate exposure under applicable policies.
• Communicate regularly with clients, opposing counsel, experts, and internal teams.
• Attend court hearings and oral arguments, remotely and in person.

Requirements

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Exceptional writing, organizational, and advocacy skills.
• Prior experience in a billable-hour environment preferred.

Education

• Juris Doctor from an accredited law school.

Certifications
