Job summary

Lydecker LLP is seeking an associate attorney in New York with 2-5 years of civil defense litigation experience. The candidate must be admitted to practice in NY and CT and will work under a partner, handling casualty, professional liability, and employment matters.

The firm provides extensive training and a strong mentorship culture, with a hybrid work environment and competitive compensation. Salary ranges from $110k to $140k with quarterly bonuses and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• This position requires a NY and CT bar license in good standing.
• JD from ABA-approved law school is required.
• 2-5 years of civil defense litigation experience, preferably in General liability, Labor and employment, property and causality or any insurance defense litigation.
• Experience handling up to 13 cases at once, depositions, court appearances, motions and discovery; mediation/trial experience a plus.
• Basic computer skills; MS Office preferred; ability to type and operate office equipment.

Responsibilities

• Bill a minimum draft/review of petitions/complaints, motions, and written discovery.
• Attend hearings and meetings with clients when requested.
• Prepare for and attend depositions.
• Assist with preparation for mediations and trials.
