Galloway Johnson Tompkins Burr & Smith is seeking an experienced litigation attorney to join our Ft. Lauderdale office, focusing on a sophisticated civil defense practice with an emphasis on construction defect and construction litigation matters.

The ideal candidate will step into an active practice, independently manage cases from inception to resolution, and collaborate with clients, carriers, contractors, developers, and property managers throughout South Florida.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of litigation experience preferred.
• Experience handling construction defect or construction-related litigation.
• Experience taking and defending depositions.
• Strong motion practice and case evaluation skills.
• Ability to manage files independently and communicate with clients and carriers.
• Florida Bar license in good standing.

Responsibilities

• Handle civil defense cases from inception to resolution.
• Collaborate with clients, carriers, contractors, developers, and property managers throughout South Florida.
• Manage discovery, depositions, hearings, and trial preparation.
• Provide mentorship and collaborate with trial attorneys.
• Support growth and retention of client relationships.

Galloway Johnson Tompkins Burr & Smith is seeking an experienced litigation attorney to join our Ft. Lauderdale office handling a sophisticated civil defense practice with a significant emphasis on construction defect and construction litigation matters.

This role is ideal for an attorney who can step into an active, high exposure practice and independently manage cases from inception through resolution while working closely with clients, carriers, contractors, developers, property managers, and business owners throughout South Florida.

Practice Areas

• Construction defect and construction litigation
• Premises liability and personal injury defense
• Insurance defense and coverage matters
• Condominium and HOA disputes
• Auto, trucking, and transportation matters
• Commercial and property related disputes

Qualifications

• 5+ years of litigation experience preferred
• Meaningful experience handling construction defect or construction related litigation
• Experience taking and defending depositions
• Strong motion practice and case evaluation skills
• Ability to manage files independently and communicate directly with clients and carriers
• Courtroom confidence and practical litigation judgment
• Florida Bar license in good standing
