Confidential Employer in Annapolis, MD seeks an estate planning attorney to draft comprehensive plans, trusts, and related documents, and to advise on tax strategies for individuals and businesses.

The role requires Maryland Bar admission, 1+ year experience, and offers opportunities for growth within a 30+ year legacy law firm known for business owners across the region.

Qualifications

  • J.D. from an accredited law school with a strong academic record.
  • Active Maryland Bar admission in good standing is required.
  • 1+ years of substantive estate planning, trust administration, or tax law experience.
  • LLM in Taxation is a strong plus but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Draft and structure comprehensive estate plans tailored to clients' goals and tax considerations.
  • Prepare wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and advance directives with precision.
  • Advise clients on estate and gift tax planning to minimize tax exposure.
  • Administer trusts and guide clients through probate from opening to final distribution.
  • Counsel business owners on succession planning, buy-sell agreements, and transitions.
  • Collaborate with financial advisors, CPAs, and other professionals for holistic solutions.
  • Manage a growing caseload with excellent client communication and responsiveness.
  • Stay current on changes in federal and Maryland estate and tax law.
