Trademarkia is hiring a California-licensed attorney to join our trademark team. You will start with training, handle matters from first filing through TTAB proceedings and litigation, and gradually take on your own docket.

Initially, you will split time between Trademarkia matters and SueEasy litigation. Entry-level welcomed; recent graduates or those newly admitted to the California bar are encouraged to apply.

Competenze

• Law degree from an accredited law school.
• Active member in good standing of the State Bar of California.
• Newly admitted attorneys welcome; IP clinic work or law firm clerkships are a plus.
• Registration to practice before the USPTO in patent matters is a plus, but not required.
• Generalist mindset; willing to work on trademark, patent, and civil litigation matters.
• Moot court, trial advocacy, or speech and debate experience is a plus.
• Superior writing and attention to detail.
• Comfortable using AI tools in legal work.
• Entrepreneurial; you think like a business owner and want equity in what you build.

Base salary range: $100,000 to $120,000 per year, plus commission and stock options

Why Join Us

Most IP firms pay a base salary and a bonus. We pay a base salary plus commission. We also give our attorneys stock options in SueEasy, Inc., a company we are building alongside the firm. Traditional firms do not offer equity to associates. When the company grows, you share in that growth.

Summary

We are hiring a small group of California licensed attorneys to join our trademark team. You will start together and train together. This is an entry level position with training. Recent graduates who were just admitted, including those on the newest California bar pass list, are encouraged to apply. You will work closely with senior attorneys on matters from first filing through TTAB proceedings and litigation. You will take on your own docket as you grow. At first, you will split your time between Trademarkia matters and SueEasy litigation.

Responsibilities

Run trademark searches and clearance reviews, and advise clients on risk

Prepare and file U.S. trademark applications

Respond to USPTO office actions, including likelihood of confusion and descriptiveness refusals

Support oppositions and cancellations before the TTAB, including pleadings, discovery, and motions

Draft cease and desist letters and responses

Coordinate international filings with foreign associates

Support senior attorneys in trademark litigation in federal court

Keep clients informed and guide them through the process

Qualifications

Law degree from an accredited law school

Active member in good standing of the State Bar of California

Newly admitted attorneys welcome. IP clinic work, trademark internships, or law firm clerkships are a plus.

Registration to practice before the USPTO in patent matters is a plus, but not required

You love the law and want to help businesses. We care more about attitude than class rank.

Compensation and Benefits

Base salary of $100,000 to $120,000, based on experience
