Job summary

Our client, a highly respected national labor and employment law firm, seeks an Associate Attorney to join its Employment Litigation practice in Boston. This role offers meaningful litigation responsibility, direct client interaction, and long-term growth in a collaborative environment.

You will handle sophisticated disputes, draft pleadings, take depositions, and work with management on workplace matters in a hybrid Boston setting.

Qualifications

• JD from an accredited law school with a strong academic record.
• Active Massachusetts Bar admission, in good standing.
• 3-7 years of substantive labor and employment litigation experience.
• Experience handling employment-related disputes with discrimination, harassment, wrongful termination, retaliation, wage/hour matters.
• Strong drafting of pleadings, motions, discovery requests and responses.
• Experience taking and defending depositions; appearances in state/federal courts and arbitration.
• Ability to manage multiple matters and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent legal writing, analytical, and oral advocacy skills.

Responsibilities

• Represent employers in a broad range of employment litigation matters in state and federal courts, administrative proceedings, and arbitration.
• Draft and respond to pleadings, motions, and discovery requests.
• Conduct witness interviews, legal research, and case analysis.
• Take and defend depositions and assist with trial and hearing preparation.
• Develop litigation strategy and work directly with clients to achieve favorable outcomes.
• Advise employers on employment law compliance and workplace risk management.
• Collaborate with attorneys across the firm's labor and employment practice on complex matters.
• Manage case files and litigation deadlines from inception through resolution.

Candidate Profile

• JDfrom an accredited law school with a strong academic record
• Active Massachusetts Bar admission, in good standing
• 3-7 years of substantive labor and employment litigation experience
• Experience handling employment-related disputes involving claims of discrimination, harassment, wrongful termination, retaliation, wage and hour matters, and other workplace-related issues
• Strong experiencedrafting pleadings, motions, discovery requests and responses, and related litigation documents
• Experience taking and defending depositions
• Experience appearing in state and federal courts, as well as arbitration proceedings
• Ability to manage multiple matters and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent legal writing, analytical, and oral advocacy skills
• Experience providing employment counseling and advice to management teams is preferred
• Large law firm or employment boutique experience preferred
• Self-starter with the ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team

Compensation & Benefits
